5/5The rosetta stone of meditation apps- perfect way to learn & sustain a meditation habit
I’ve used Buddhify for a few years now, and it’s by far the most usable, helpful and interesting of any meditation aides I’ve tried, at a much more accessible price point than most. Before this I had 0 experience with meditation, and felt it was useless when I tried because I didn’t know how to go about it, or what to aim for. Then I started listening to Buddhify’s shorter 5-15 minute guided meditations most nights before bed— in addition to being a very relaxing pre-sleep ritual, I gradually learned and practiced various approaches to meditation- techniques, mind states, even fun games. I still love to listen to Buddhify’s tracks frequently, but the best thing is that Buddhify taught me templates for meditative mental states that I can now use independently as well. The app is also beautifully designed, voices are enjoyable to listen to, and there’s clearly such care put into every aspect of it— I can’t recommend it enough.

5/5The best practical meditation app
... and possibly just the best meditation app, period. If you’re like me and find yourself put off by New Age-flavored 30-minute long meditation sessions and just want to start learning techniques for enjoying the evidence-based benefits of meditation, this may be the app for you. It’s a practical approach to squeezing in a few minutes of meditative thought that doesn’t require sitting in the lotus position or intense concentration to feel accomplished. The app encourages very casual use—most meditations are around 5-10 minutes long, and can be done sitting, commuting, eating, bathing, with friends, and more. If you’re going through a difficult period or have mental health disorders, this app can help too. I have anxiety and am going through a period of major upheaval in my life, and this app has become an important part of coping. My favorite time to use it is at bedtime (very good at helping me relax and fall asleep) and waking up, but I’ve also dipped in during lunch breaks at work and while just around the apartment. I would say my one nitpick with it is a few of the meditations could be slightly better structured or written (ie: pauses that are too long or too short or misplaced), but there’s so many options that I can’t ding it for the imperfect. And even with that quibble, there’s nothing shoddy or poorly done about any of them. This is a wonderfully practical meditation app for modern use. I can’t recommend it enough.

5/5Amazing
I have been and where very skeptical about meditation. I have never had it work well and thought it was kind of hokey! I have been through some very tough times in my life; combat, battling cancer twice, loss etc…but for the last month a back injury has interrupted my life and left me helpless! Unable to move, in serious pain, emotional distress, lost work, lost recreation, lost vacation, unable to volunteer, mow my lawn, drive, finish moving and so forth. Awaiting approval for back surgery to fix my issues I was reading and found an article about meditation and one of the apps they recommended was Buddify and I am so happy they did! I love it, it’s great and has helped me relax, stay calm and know that this too shall pass. I use several different sections of the wheel a few times a day and getting into a routine and incorporating it into my daily life! Thank you, well worth the $5, hope it helps you too!

5/5Brilliant
Listen, I get it. You want to get into meditation, but all these apps have a monthly subscription. Well with Buddify, there’s one small charge for the app itself, and that’s it! After that single purchase, you’ve unlocked a whole world full of techniques tailored specifically to situations that you need help with: sleep, stress, walking, even using your phone! I like this app because it’s very easy to use, you can edit the list of meditations to your liking, and there’s no “premium pressure” as I like to call it. I’ll happily pay $5 once, rather than have a constant question in my head wondering if a subscription is worth it for how much I’m using the app. And after all, a meditation app pressuring you to pay more money sounds kind of counterproductive anyway. Bravo to Buddify! You’ve helped tame my stressed out mind.

3/5I really wanted to like this app
This app didn’t provide as much guidance with breathing and meditation for every category as I wished. Since I paid for this app, I tried it out whenever I could. However, I noticed that I kept going back to the free guided meditations on the Calm app and Aware app. When I realized that I hadn’t been using this app at all (and even avoiding it), I thought I should write this review. It gets 3 stars because the layout and the amount of content is impressive. However, the guided meditations in this app are just not my thing. There isn’t enough focus on breathing I think. My mind keeps wandering and I realize halfway through that I’m not even listening to the audio at all. I feel like the other apps give constant gentle reminders (regardless of category) to bring me back into focus. This feels more like an app for those who simply want a friend to make them aware of their surroundings as they do daily tasks... rather than themed sit-down guided breathing meditations.

2.6.6
buddhify recently hit the milestone of 50 MILLION MINUTES of meditation having done through the app. To celebrate we thought we'd make some small but useful improvements to the app. The most visible are: - Bug fix to stop some users crashing. Thanks for your patience while we resolved that one! - Integration with Apple's HealthKit. That means that if you use the Health app, all the meditation you do with buddhify can be logged against the Mindfulness activity category. - Reduction of the overall file size. We know that buddhify may be one of the bigger apps on your device and so we've trimmed the size of the overall meditation content without changing the number or content of tracks. - New icons. We've updated the icons of the main navigation bar on the app. This is a minor change but it does mean that the app looks just that little bit cooler and who doesn't want that? That's all for now. Thank you so much for supporting the app and being part of our community. As a tiny company trying to make a big difference, we really really really appreciate it.

We updated our screenshots to show off our visuals a little bit more and that nowadays that requires a full app update. But since you're here just a quick note to say thank you for supporting our app. We're a small team based in Glasgow, Scotland led by both our love of the mindfulness tradition and good design. When we made our first ever version of buddhify back in late 2011, we did so because the apps available at the time weren't particularly progressive and so we made something that was beautiful, effective and allowed people with busy lifestyles to get the benefits of mindfulness practice. In the years since, it has been amazing to be part of this world of meditation apps which has grown so much. So now as we look at the mindfulness app marketplace as it is today, yes we recognise how far it has come but also know that there are many more directions that 21st century mindfulness can go. So to help it get there we are busy working on a major buddhify reboot which has the not-so-small ambition to redefine what a modern meditation app can be. Here in our studio we think about it as a next-generation mindfulness app. We think you're going to love it and so look forward to sharing more about our plans in the future . Thank you again Rohan, Lucy, Emmie & Partel

Some people were having a problem with the initial mailing list signup screen in that in some unfortunate cases it was crashing the app. So we thought it was a good idea to fix that! Since you're here, you might also like to know that we are sharing the process of how we are making the new version of buddhify (due to the end of this year) on our Instagram account. So please follow us at www.instagram.com/buddhifyapp to see what's happening and we'll see you there.

We've updated our promotional images for the redesigned AppStore and also made some minor changes to help the app work smoother on iPad Pro. And since you're here, there's some important news you should know... a brand new major version of buddhify is coming at the end of this year as an update. We're working really hard on it and what you'll see is not only loads more meditations but also some super exciting and unique new features. The mindfulness app world has changed a lot since buddhify has been out and so buddhify is changing too and we think you're going to love it. If you want to follow the story of what is happening you can follow @buddhifyapp on Instagram and we'll be in touch again soon. Thank you so much for your support, it makes such a big different to us. Be well Rohan, Lucy, Emmie & Partel

New buddhify is here! More meditations, new features... so much to explore. We've spent all of the last year on this new version of buddhify. The two main things to know are that 1) we've more than doubled the number of meditations and 2) you can now customise your wheel so it is full of the categories that you need. Want more sleep meditations? Just add them! Don't need a category anymore? Just remove it! As if that wasn't enough, there is so much more to explore in new buddhify. The features called Foundations and Give, a whole Kids wheel to help share mindfulness with the little people in your life and even more ways to personalise the app and really make it your own. All provided as a free update! To help with this new level of personalisation the app will ask you to create an account, which is quick and easy to do. And we will continue to add even more features in the coming months. And as with all technology projects, especially those as ambitious as new buddhify, there may be a few bugs and issues here and there, so we will work on any that come up when we're back from the holidays in early January. In the meantime, we hope you like it and happy holidays. Thank you for your support.

4.0.1
- We have made the launch/update process much more streamlined which some users were having problems with when not on wifi. - We have also added iOS 10 support and ensured that time using the solo timer was logged correctly to statistics. - We've fixed issues with the solo timer sounds. - You can now favourite tracks without having listened to them on this new version when logged in. - There's now a setting to increase the font size of text not on the wheel. (A future update will allow you to zoom into the wheel). - We've integrated Voiceover across the app apart from on the wheel where we are exploring an alternative option for a future update. - We have integrated with Apple Health so you can track your meditation using the Health app's Mindful Minutes category - The missing meditations from the previous version are now remastered, found in Just Meditation and the two Stress & Difficult Emotion categories. - You can now save all meditations. This is the first of a group of updates in the next few weeks and following updates will refine the app even further including enhanced functionality and some more quality-of-life improvements. Thank you and we hope that you and yours have had a good start to 2018. And if you have any questions or issues, let us know at [email protected] // team buddhify

This update see the launch of buddhify Membership and so is perhaps our most important update ever. Becoming a Member helps you deepen your practice and support our work. Three brand new features are available for those of you who choose to become Members: Formal - a dedicated wheel to upping your skills in formal meditation, Together - full of content which gives you new skills and inspiration and most exciting of all Transmission - a karaoke-style feature which allows you to share our meditations but in your voice. You can see more about Membership in the updated app and on our website. And if it's not for you, that's totally fine, nothing changes and you still get the same great buddhify experience just as it is. While that is the big change, we've also made some improvements to loading speed and some other bug fixes. Thank you for being part of the buddhify community.
