5/5Great Podcast App
So far I have found the app to be super easy to use and the interface is very clean and nice to look at. Couple of things I’d like to see in future updates is the option to auto download all the episodes of a podcast or a specific season of a podcast. Also the forward and backward buttons, it would be great if we could manually change how many seconds it moves forward or backwards. Last thing, please allow users to keep episodes even after they have been played. Other than that, the truth is that I don’t particularly care about the social aspect of it but I am very very happy with what I’m seeing on this app. I sense true greatness in the horizon for this app. Great work guys.

1/5Turns out it’s a scam
I paid for this app and got scammed. I have been locked out of my account for months on end. Reaching out to support gets no response. They “updated” the app to require you to reset your password to access your account again, but the link they email you is broken. Don’t bother paying for this app. It’s apparently just a money grab. Previous review: Social podcast app? No thank you. I don’t want to talk about my podcasts or share them with my friends. I don’t care what anyone else is listening to and I don’t care about discovering or searching for new podcasts. I have several custom RSS feeds for ad free podcasts that I pay for via Patreon. I want to import them to an app via URL, listen to them, AND SAVE THE BEST EPISODES TO A PLAYLIST TO SAVE FOREVER SO I CAN RELISTEN TO THEM EASILY. I have tried a dozen podcast apps and searched high and low on Google. I finally found this app through a Medium article and I want to cry. It actually works. Import via RSS works. Listening works. Adding my favorite episodes to the favorites playlist works, and I can customize the settings to keep the episodes from being deleted on listen. Finally. I have not been able to find a single other app on the internet that does this and it’s literally the only feature I wanted. And I didn’t even have to fork over cash to try the app. Well done. I will be subscribing to get more playlists now that I know this app does what I need.

4/5Room for improvement, but still way better than Apple’s podcast app
Give me the podcast all Apple had out originally, and I’d be happy. Breaker is a great alternative to the app that Apple ruined- all my episodes download when they should and are easy to locate. My issue lies with being able to delete an episode after listening. The episode “disappears” from the playlist and you have to go into subscriptions to find it, and you still can’t do much with it there. If you don’t listen to all (or any) of an episode, it remains in the playlist, and you can swipe left to remove it from your playlist....but it’s not deleted from your phone (exists in subscription area). Not sure if I’m missing something that’s right in front of me, or if this was just overlooked. A welcomed feature would be to be able to share an episode with people not on Breaker- sometimes I would email myself the episode to know to come back to it, and sometimes i would like to share it with others (who don’t use Breaker). Being able to create multiple playlists would be a bonus, too!

4/5A Good App with Extra Listener Steps Needed
As a podcast producer and host, I often help listeners to find ways to listen and share podcasts. As a power listener of other podcasts, I look for certain features. This app is almost done. I found my show easily. Once I found it and subscribed, I saw that only my first 72 episodes were available. None of my latest episodes from the last 18 months or so we’re on the list. It took me a few minutes to figure out that I could adjust storage settings in the app to allow the rest of my episodes (my latest more than a year of episodes) to show on the list of published episodes. I believe this will be missed by new listeners and as a result, they will miss my latest content without knowing it. Some listeners may even conclude that my show faded in 2018 and unsubscribe. I was able to adjust listening speed, listen in oldest to newest order (or newest to oldest), read show notes, and find markers. But this app is not rendering artwork (photos) from my show. Not a huge deal for me, but seeing photos in context of the show notes enhances some listener’s experience. Sharing is easy - and probably a strength of this app, especially if other listeners are on the same platform. But to share snippets (vs full episodes), we have to integrate with a third party app like Bullet. Bullet gets 3.2 stars at the moment and has been hit or miss for some users. Overall, this app looks like a solid app with most of the features a user will want. The biggest drawback for me is the fact that new episodes from shows with larger back catalogs will not be there when new listeners subscribe. It’s not clear to listeners that we aren’t getting the newest content or how to make sure we do. The extra steps a user has to perform to fetch the latest content can be a show stopper for more casual listeners. If I send listeners to Breaker today, most will only get my oldest stuff unless they know to adjust app settings and look for my newer material. Fix that, and I am more likely to recommend Breaker.

4/5Great but has some frustrating bugs.
Great app all around. Two things that could use some more work are the search function and more bug removal. The search itself isn’t the worst but sometimes it takes almost until the last letter of a podcast title for it to find the correct one, not very intuitive. The bugs can be a bit frustrating, some of the worst ones I get are toward the end of episodes that have been in a playlist for a while, they often will loop at random intervals. Three minutes will go by then that same 3 minutes will play once more. The absolute worst however is that your progress on an episode will often get deleted. This isn’t normally a huge issue, but with shows like Hardcore History that sometimes have nearly 3 hour episodes having to routinely scrub through to find my position is aggravating.

It took me a few minutes to figure out that I could adjust storage settings in the app to allow the rest of my episodes (my latest more than a year of episodes) to show on the list of published episodes. I believe this will be missed by new listeners and as a result, they will miss my latest content without knowing it. Some listeners may even conclude that my show faded in 2018 and unsubscribe. I was able to adjust listening speed, listen in oldest to newest order (or newest to oldest), read show notes, and find markers. But this app is not rendering artwork (photos) from my show. Not a huge deal for me, but seeing photos in context of the show notes enhances some listener’s experience. Sharing is easy - and probably a strength of this app, especially if other listeners are on the same platform. But to share snippets (vs full episodes), we have to integrate with a third party app like Bullet. Bullet gets 3.2 stars at the moment and has been hit or miss for some users. Overall, this app looks like a solid app with most of the features a user will want. The biggest drawback for me is the fact that new episodes from shows with larger back catalogs will not be there when new listeners subscribe. It’s not clear to listeners that we aren’t getting the newest content or how to make sure we do. The extra steps a user has to perform to fetch the latest content can be a show stopper for more casual listeners. If I send listeners to Breaker today, most will only get my oldest stuff unless they know to adjust app settings and look for my newer material. Fix that, and I am more likely to recommend Breaker.",

          "body": "Great app all around. Two things that could use some more work are the search function and more bug removal. The search itself isn’t the worst but sometimes it takes almost until the last letter of a podcast title for it to find the correct one, not very intuitive. The bugs can be a bit frustrating, some of the worst ones I get are toward the end of episodes that have been in a playlist for a while, they often will loop at random intervals. Three minutes will go by then that same 3 minutes will play once more. The absolute worst however is that your progress on an episode will often get deleted. This isn’t normally a huge issue, but with shows like Hardcore History that sometimes have nearly 3 hour episodes having to routinely scrub through to find my position is aggravating.",
