  1. 5/5The AI narration is the best I’ve heard

I have two original audiobooks on this app that are doing well. The narration does rewrite what is uploaded, but for the most part it gets the story right. Sometimes it will read what I wrote word for word, other times it summarizes. I think that it would be better for writers if it stuck to how the story is written. The AI narrators are surprisingly realistic. The app is quite limited, though. It would be nice if readers could leave comments, likes and ratings. A creator dashboard that includes analytics would also be useful. Allowing free trials for readers and creators would boost downloads and purchases. I think this app has a lot of potential and hope it continues to improve and introduce new features like the ones I mentioned.

  2. 5/5DO NOT DOWNLOAD

SUPPORT AUTHORS NOT CHEAPLY MADE AI APPS! The only reason I give this 5 stars is in the hopes that you all see this … this is in fact a 0/5 stars app because this is just AI trash DO NOT SUPPORT THESE APPS! Support the authors that write the books PLEASE… I understand it’s tempting to “ watch the books” but it’s not worth your time or money. I downloaded the app just to see how horrible this really is and you can’t even watch without paying for a subscription. There’s zero permission from the authors to publish their books in this way. We all like to talk about red flags so let’s make this simple for you 🚩#1- publishing books without authors permission 🚩#2: you have to pay to watch stolen content from real authors 🚩#3: it’s AI trash 🤖🚮 Please please please do not support this app if you can report it! Also if your still not convinced think about this for a second- your about to dump money to watch trash content that’s stolen… I’m sure this app will be taken down at some point so your going to throw away your money… YOU WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THIS APP FOREVER IT WILL BE TAKEN DOEN FOR COPYRIGHT REASONS!!! ⚠️⚠️⚠️

  3. 1/5Promising concept, completely broken execution

I downloaded BookTok after being impressed by the initial sample trailer it generated from my book’s prologue. The idea of turning written work into a short cinematic trailer is genuinely exciting, and the demo made the app look polished and capable. Unfortunately, the experience immediately fell apart after subscribing. There is no functional free version—once the sample is generated, the only option is to subscribe. I paid for the $9.99/month plan, which includes a set amount of “gems” required to generate videos. That system would be fine if the app actually worked. Every attempt to create a video resulted in a “failed to create video” error. Despite this, the app still consumed all of my gems. I did not receive a single usable video. No retries, no refunds of gems, no successful output—just errors and a depleted balance. At that point, the app had effectively taken my money without providing the service it advertises. This is especially frustrating because the core idea is strong. The demo proves the app can produce impressive results—but in its current state, the paid functionality is unreliable at best and deceptive at worst. I would not recommend subscribing until the failure issue is fixed and there is a clear policy for refunds or restored gems when the app fails to deliver what you’ve paid for.

  4. 1/5Awful app. Money Scam.

This app is horribly made. Back buttons don’t exist. There is no profile set up or settings page. It was marketed as being able to watch your favorite books, but the AI is done so horribly wrong and not accurate and is not even telling the correct story. I did the year one because I was bombarded with the “choose a subscription” pop up and when I clicked not interested, it gave me a 90% off discount for $30 a year and it wouldn’t let me leave or close that out. I thought “why not” if it’s good, it’ll be worth it. I tried watching something and saw how bad it was and immediately canceled my subscription. I want my money back for false advertising and there’s no way to even contact the creators. Even clicking app support in the App Store just takes you to some horribly made website to just sign up and no actual support. It’s a money scam. I’m going to have to go through my bank. Lesson leaned.

  5. 4/5Showed me books are actually interesting

so i downloaded this app like a week ago because i kept seeing it on my fyp and i was bored. did not expect to actually like it this much lol. the stories are actually really interesting?? like the premises are so creative and different, not the same recycled stuff you see everywhere. i will say sometimes the story logic is a little off like a character will do something random or forget something that literally just happened but idk it doesnt bother me that much because im too busy wanting to know what happens next. also love that theres always new books being added. anyway yeah this is my new favorite app dont judge me.
