  1. 1/5Pretty Sure This Is Theft

If I could leave 0 stars I would, internet doesn’t stay connected and each device you want connected costs you extra. They are absolutely stealing from you… I expect a service I pay for to be reliable and function more then 10 minutes at a time, but 90% of the time this service WILL NOT FUNCTION. And you can spend upwards of an hour trying to reconnect just to get booted off again anywhere from 1-10 minutes later. Using this for your personal devices is bad enough especially if you’re gaming but don’t even think about using this for work it’s is wholly unreliable. They are stealing your money and every update does little to nothing to actually fix their issues… I feel as though they aren’t trying to fix their issues because this problem is recurrent… waste of money I’d rather (and will) use my phones personal hotspot to do literally everything… It may buffer but at least it doesn’t disconnect every few minutes.

  2. 5/5Boingo has gotten significantly faster

Boingo has 3 networks usually, the base name (Wi-Fi), boing wireless, and boingo 5ghz, the 5ghz option works really well for me (the others are horrible) and for 80 bucks I typically see around 150 mbps which is more than what’s advertised but for the love of god please come up with a better system to connect your devices as i constantly have to sign back in and it’s really what breaks boingo from being a good service. Come up with a better system and bring faster speeds, every other company out there offers 100 mbps as the base option and 10mbps even being an option is embarrassing, bring 500mbps to the table and possibly some gig speeds as for a handful of bases it’s either boingo or cox and cox is expensive (with a contract) that’s out of most people’s budgets. I give 5 stars purely for the value of being able to move around but please fix it!!!!!

  3. 1/5Sad excuse of a service

If you are a fan of spotty internet connection that drops completely at least 3 times every hour and has horrendous connection quality than this is a deal for you. The wifi is so bad I can’t even load sites like office365 for work. To make matters even better on random days I can’t connect because it says my account is inactive and when I try to log into the Boingo website to view my account it says my log in info is invalid. Even after resetting my password via Email and trying to login on different devices it’s still invalid. I tried calling the customer service number, foolishly hoping at least that would work just to be put on hold for 20 minutes then get hung up on. Sadly this is the only option I got where I am stationed, and just shows that the military needs to invests in actually good contracts with actually good companies, not sad excuses like this one.

  4. 3/5It’s decent WiFi

It’s definitely not special. For $50 a month you can connect up to 3 devices on the network. That’s the cheapest option. The WiFi doesn’t even work on my phone period, it does however work on my PS5 and my laptop. It’s quick when it works, but it experiences tons of outages. I’ve been back on deployment for 4 months now and I have counted around 10+ outages. It may not seem like a lot, but these outages are often a couple of hours long. If you’re comfortable with that, then it’s a decent service. One thing I should mention is that if the weather is horrible, the WiFi will not go out. Snow, storms, etc, the WiFi still stands pretty strong. The outages seem like an internal issue rather than an external issue. Customer service is generally helpful if you need to speak with them.

  5. 1/5Poor man’s monopoly.

If you can help it, try to go without setting up a subscription with this company, I’ve had them for two different bases and had very poor coverage. I’m on their most expensive plan. Outages are frequent, the internet speed makes searching at the most basic level an arduous task, it doesn’t allow for streaming any kind of media, your downloads will take 5 hours minimum and when it is working enough to play video games it will be short lived. This company has a monopoly on the population for years and has not made any headway on the frequent issues they’re called for. It took me communicating with other service members both new and old to discover this.
