3/5There are A LOT of improvements needed! Urgently!
I have been using the app and the training program for 3-4 weeks now! Like some other reviewers, the cost benefit vs a gym personal trainer are not even close to be compared, 1.000 times better the training here. BUT as everything in life it comes at a cost! A few of them: 1. When i finish a full cycle of work out and move to the next sequence of a particular training, it’s like 50/50 that the weight used last time will be brought up…Damm this is ULTRA annoying! 2. There are a couple of exercises where the video showing it is the same eve if the exercise is not the same…😤 3. Try your luck replacing and exercise or equipment in the app…when you select replace the exercise it should pull up the list linked to the part of the body you are training, not the entire book of exercises possible which makes tiring to be scrolling in a buggy app. Ah yes, i forgot to mention that the scrolling has a lot of bugs as well. So basically the 3 times i tried to replace i simply gave up. 4. And last…if you finish a set and the timer starts to count…why does the timer disappear when you click on the next set?! Pls don’t stop the clock…i could simply be proactively adjusting the weight/reps…keep the clock running! 5. Oh well…talking about the clock I remembered what i think it could be the last one…pls use some sort of copy/paste mode so when you save a set, the weight/reps saved are replicated to the next set to avoid having to type ALL OVER AGAIN! I hope this helps and the developers fix these bugs and i will be happy to promote to a lot of people!

3/5If you ever need app support forget it
I have been using the BodyFit for several years. Let’s start with the bad since I’m currently frustrated because the app is stuck on load screen. There are some definite bugs. First and foremost occasionally the app just doesn’t load. It gives error messages to check connection when all other apps function just fine. When this happens forget trying to get help. It’s a frustrating automated “live” chat that has yet to ever help me resolve a problem. The phone sends you directly to an automated chat they call “live” or email that takes sometimes days to get resolution for. I’m sitting at the gym as I write this and the app won’t load. So…..I have no way to access the workout plan I’m paying for. Very frustrating! I have uninstalled, reinstalled, tried every crappy support option they provide, and tried several different internet connections. When the app does work, it will crash if you take a picture with your phone. It doesn’t know what a drop set is, it loses history of prior training records. When you click the history sometimes it gives a notice that you have no history even though you did that exercise the week before. I do like the workout plans, many of which were free on BodySpace and have. The potential for this app is good, But this app needs a lot of work!

2/5Don’t download this app if you want to actually use it.
I loved the body fit app and all the fitness plans it had to offer. So much that I was getting healthier and sticking to a routine… something I hadn’t done in years… until a couple weeks ago when the app all of a sudden wouldn’t work. Mind you I have a PAID subscription. All of a sudden I could not log on despite changing my password numerous times. I reached out to technical support who in turn told me that there was a glitch and they were working on it. Fast forward a few days later and it still hadn’t been resolved. Sure I could make my own workout plan but why am I subscribing to this app and paying for it if I can’t even use it? They offered me a 10% discount on purchases on the website. I don’t want a discount! I want my app to work or to be at least compensated for the money I spent to use an app I cannot use. I just let it go and went on vacation, and when I came back a couple weeks later thought I would ramp up the workouts again…. Only it STILL does not work. And with no explanation. I would like to think in this day and age they could get an app working in a matter of hours… not weeks. I am very disapppointed. I also find it hard to believe that I am the only one having this problem? I have tried reinstalling several times to no avail. I noticed the website isn’t even working correctly. I don’t know how one runs a business this way.

2/5App works about as well as our government..
I won’t lie, some of the work out programs and meal plans on this app are awesome. Jim Stoppani’s Shortcut to Size and Shortcut to Shred are both programs I have done multiple times with awesome results! BUT. And this is a big but… The app itself is highly flawed: - It has a tab to make notes for exercises, but they don’t save correctly and you can’t go back and read them when you need to. - It lets you switch out exercises, for instance if you have an injury or just don’t want to do a certain exercise or something, and that’s great.. but it doesn’t fully integrate the new exercise. If you were switching an exercise with weights to something not requiring weights or vice versa, it keeps the original format. This is okay until you need to record how much weight you used, aren’t able to, and then can’t save notes about how much weight was used because the “notes” tab is also flawed. - The app SOMETIMES tells you how much weight you should add every week or when you do the exercises again.. but not always, and not at a correct/doable increment when it does. - FINALLY. This is probably the biggest one. The app will randomly just crash or be offline for days. No notification or heads up, nothing. I pay for a yearly membership which is handy, but when the app is down for four days straight with no warning and it screws up all of your routine unless you had screen shots or a written journal of your workouts ahead of time, then it’s useless. Why should I pay for something that doesn’t work correctly, or all the time, like it is supposed to? Granted I suppose we do the same with our phones/service and Wi-Fi, but nonetheless. Overall, it does have benefits but also a lot of flaws and extremely frustrating negatives.

1/5New Update is Atrocious
I’ve used this app for a little over 2 and half years now. I started back when it was known as Bodyfit. It had some quirks, but it was still a reliable way to track sets, training sessions, and progress. I would probably have rated it a 4/5. But if you’re looking for a fitness tracker in 2025, STAY AWAY. This “update” needs a second pass. There’s no way to go back to workout that you were on if you close the app. It will say that you have an ongoing workout, but there’s no way to get back to the one that’s ongoing. If you go back into the workout that was running, it starts your progress back from the beginning. The UI is horrendous now as well. Navigating the app is completely hopeless. Good luck finding the list of movements that are planned for a training session as they’re hidden behind an obtuse menu. Don’t even think about being able to easily track what set you’re on. The set and rest timer is neat in theory, but the execution is terrible. Even the colors on the text make it hard to tell between the sets you’ve completed and the sets you’ve yet to start. Between the user experience taking a massive hit and there being no built-in guide that is readily accessible to users, I cannot in good conscience recommend that anyone use this app until it gets a major overhaul. Better yet, allow users to revert to the previous version. Why fix what wasn’t broken?

5.0.3
We have been hard at work making this app better for our users. In this release there are a number of performance improvements and tweaks to make the experience better. We have also improved audio handling, so that you can keep listening to your music while working out. Going into a workout now provides a lot more information before starting it; you can see all the exercises and equipment needed from the workout plan page. Thank you for ringing in the new year with us, and we look forward to releasing tons more content and features in the weeks to come.
-
5.0.4
We have added Movement History; you can now see your skills over time on any movement in the library, just tap the graph icon in the top right of the screen when on a move library entry. Even more useful, you can get there from within a program or custom workout from the same icon, located on the video, and you can copy a set value over to the active set you are doing. We have also added annotations to all moves in the workout plans and the program workouts. Get much-needed info on how to do the exercises, not just what to do. A ton more hardening has happened around maintaining the state of your workout, and recovering active workouts if you quit out of the app in an odd way. You can now listen to your music without worry of it getting turned off or muted. We have also improved what you see when you complete a workout, and are providing much more info about what you accomplished.
