1. 2/5His Twisted Game, My Dangerous Love

   It feels like there are several writers or the one writer is all over the place. So many inconsistencies in this book! For instance. There’s a dog that was gotten from a rescue who in the beginning was a border collie and was black and white. Then it was a golden retriever. Then back to the collie etc…. One character in the book was named Cecilia now her name is Susan. The main character has blond hair on the cover of the book but halfway through it seems the author got an idea and her hair is long black straight. Now she’s part Asian. Then there are times where a chapter repeats exactly the one before it. Also the stories change regarding things that happened. It is all over the place. And the book is so looooooong and one thing after another and new characters popping up or changing roles. The book would be a great book because the story line is good but the writer(s) need to get it together. Never got to finish the book and I was almost finished. It completely disappeared. This app is horrendous! Do not fall for the $1.99 scam as it is almost impossible to cancel. Walk away. Go read somewhere else.

2. 1/5The unwanted wife is a zillionaire

   I’ve made it to chapter 280 and this insipid story is still dragging on. The premise of the story, an intellectual woman (Elisa) married to a billionaire narcissist (August) who is being gaslighted at every turn by said husband, might be ok, save for the grammatical errors, the terrible editing, the continuous loss of continuity in the story, the nauseating repetition of paragraphs (not to mention the entire repetition of chapter 105 into 106)! The most egregious literary sin, however, is the expectation that the reader would accept this so-called brilliant genius could be such a prat! She is constantly being pursued, demeaned, and terrorized by her husband and his family; and yet she seems to have no common sense, or sense of self preservation at all! As soon as any normal woman sees that she is about to be trapped, or raped, or beaten up, that woman would run, back away, scream, leave the area, not get into the elevator, or car with a predator, pull out her canister of pepper spray, pull her knife, or preferably her licensed handgun and get away! Does our heroine ever do this? No! She is an idiot and not a good roll model! If the story ever comes back online, I doubt I’d have the curiosity to see how the story resolves. She better not go back to the creep with her 5 year old brilliant daughter she has kept hidden for 5 years!

   I got a 1 week subscription and canceled it. Then noticed they tried my card again recently. I went through the purchase history in app and nothing. I went through the wallet, nothing. Went to the subscription and nothing there either. I contacted support and was given a link to unsubscribe. I clicked the link and it said I was unsubscribed. I could not interact with anything on the page. I thought this was cancelled. Today they charged me $9.99 and the charge was from BestNovel instead of moboreader who originally charged me the first time. The receipt says 1-11 but today is 1-10… says my auto renew date was 1-11. Again today is 1-10. Just a rip off. I contacted them again following the same prompts but the page never loaded. So I cancel cancel in the app. I reached out to them at the email they provide for support and they told me to contact them in the app. Which is a joke! I tried hitting agent and got some message saying they are away from their desk and even got an email saying the cancel notification was not received but they had screenshots of me asking to cancel… so why can’t they cancel it? They won’t, because this is a rip off. Bad customer support.

4. 2/5Some good books but awful amount of advertisements

   There are some good stories to read. The writing is not stellar, lots of mixed up character names from English to Chinese to just mixed up characters. They should just keep to Chinese if the original or author is Chinese. That would be interesting. Another issue is the length of the stories. Some could have ended but it continues in long winded, at times unrelated theme. There are lots of stories with the same theme but different names to the characters. It becomes apparent that there is a major theme but the story woven is changed a little. It is very recognizable that after reading a few stories, you can list a number that that’s the same theme. However the most annoying is the extremely short minute chapter read but the ads you have to watch a 5 minutes long ads. After a while, even the stories don’t compel you to keep the app. It becomes a drain to your time and makes the reading incredibly unpleasant. If they make it a 5 minutes chapter reading & max 2 minute ads to watch, that would be more appealing.

5. 1/5Jilted Heiress: Marrying the Untouchable Tycoon

   I started reading this because the chapter in the add was pretty well written. About 10 “chapter” in (in quotes because each “chapter” is about 3 pages), it became clear that this was written by AI and not touched by a human being let alone reviewed or copy edited. I continued reading because it was funny-counting how many times something would “hit them like a physical blow”, their eyes “turned to chips of ice”, or the exact same scenario would repeat…and repeat…and repeat with the exact same “stunned” reactions in spite of the characters having known all of the before. Now, 389 chapters in, (yes, 389) the story is on constant repeat, nowhere near a resolution, chapters are added every couple of days so I can’t finish even if it WERE moving forward, and I’m just bored. From what I’ve seen, this critique is not unique so I’m assuming this is the standard for all books by BestNovel and you have no intention of improving quality or completeness so I’m canceling the subscription. I may check in randomly to see if your AI has added another 300 “chapters” to this merry-go-round just to see how far you’ll push it. Outside of that, I’m done.
