   I originally was going to give this app a bad review, because some of the adds were too obnoxious and loud and once you shut that one off another add without sound would pop up before you could get to the display screen. Boy I am glade I gave it another shot. Of the 3 or 4 apps that made the cut from what seemed like days off searching the App Store, this app simply named BATTERY, floated to the top. Of the others, One had a nice widget, it worked in the background and Lock Screen, but only had a short notifications ding or “Your batter has reached 80%” one time. So it had to go. One would work on Lock Screen but not in the background. Another almost won out (I really liked the boiling sound as it made my wife giggle) but it had a glitch when using automation; it had a low alarm (which I could take or leave) when using automation to turn it on when plugging in the charger removing a putting back on, it would confuse the high and low alarm and think the low was 80% lol. Others wanted $2.99 to work in the background or worse yet a subscription just to use them. Contrary to the FAQs the free app works through automation. So, If you can stand the adds this is a great free app but we’ll worth the 0.99 one time fee to remove adds. And give the DEV a little something! Oh yea I almost forgot after a while it shows your charging current. Super neat! One very minor things I waffle over the low music played in the background. Maybe a way to turn it on and off? Again very minor cheers

2. 5/5This battery app works great!

   Has several different alarms to choose from and the one I picked you can definitely hear. I have mine set on space insects and it will get your attention! And the alarm goes off when you hit the percentage, you have it set for. When you read about the app, it says lithium ion batteries should never go lower than 20% or charge over 80%. I’ve been doing this with my new phone and my phone has been working great my old iPad the battery is already shot so I charge it to 100% lol

3. 3/5Auto brightness and volume is annoying...

   This is the best battery alarm app for the iPhone. However, the app keeps readjusting the screen brightness and volume automatically. There is no way to disable this. Sometimes when I'm listening to music and I open this app, the volume would either become very quiet or it blasts loud volume which is annoying. I understand it is a helpful feature for some but I'd rather have an option to turn this feature off. The same exact thing happens with the screen brightness as well which I think is even more unnecessary. Please update the app to allow an option to turn these off! Otherwise, this is a fantastic app that helps protect my iPhone battery health! One last thing is the app doesn't work if I leave the main screen of the app and use other apps. There is a feature in this app that plays music at a low volume to keep the app awake and active in the background but it still doesn't work and the iPhone shuts down the app if I leave the main screen of the app and use other apps. Please fix this!

4. 4/5Brilliant idea

   After using for more than a year it’s not what I’d like but it is better than nothing. I gave it an extra 3 *’s because I want folks to be aware of it. It does not work for me likely because of human error. I plug in, click on app, adjust charge %, and I guess I don’t hit the submit button because the alarm has only very rarely worked. Not sure if it’s distraction from the ads or the ADD 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m not sure designers often understand that the purpose of tech is to help the user . . . anything less is a fail. I feel like I do it all right and yet it failed again and I notice I’m usually better off relying on my own clock. Having said that, it would be great to use a real clock than my internal one. I suppose it’s just me and I need to continue to try and adapt. If you can make better, please do so, if this works for everyone else, I wish you nothing but good fortune and sincerely appreciate you🙏🏼 *Update: I still use this although I am in the process of replacing with a hardware & app solution. Last night alarm at 82% when set for 63%, but still better to have it. Overall it works more than not and I find it’s better than my memory which has a spotty track record.

5. 4/5Highly Recommend, just minor bugs for advanced users exporting records

   Battery Charge Alarm is an extremely useful app that’s feature packed & does everything you want to track your device charging sessions & alert you when the desired charge has been reached! It’s also Shortcuts capable, making it literally the most used app!! I cannot think of any major features to add, so highly recommend! However, there is a minor bug with the Charge History logging that needs to be fixed: randomly a charge session would be merged to a previous record, so it looks like it started at one previous time & ended at the current time! Recording charging periods of 24 hours or 48 hours or more, when plugged into charger a hour once a day! That history record could have been completed correctly with a short accurate session, but on the next charge the end date/time would change, making it look like it’s on the charger for much longer! This seems to happen more frequently with newer app updates. Occurs on both iPhone & iPad! This is more of an issue when using Export History to get the history into spreadsheets for data analysis, throwing off any calculations on durations, losing some history too! This problem doesn’t seem to occur if I had forced quit the app between charge sessions. Another issue appeared while adapting to iOS 17: the charge percentage now has “~” reflecting the imprecise reporting from iOS 17, when using Export History & importing into spreadsheets, equations break when calculating the difference from beginning & end percentage with the “~”. I have used complex functions to filter out “~”, but for your many other users, I would recommend adding another Setting to your many options, a switch to Export the records without “~” in the percentages, so simple calculations again can be made with each history record on spreadsheets. Fixing these minor issues would be great!! Thanks for making such a capable & useful app!!
