5/5Does its job
Like anything, there is good and bad when it comes to barq. The bottom line is this: It is a great way to meet furries. As someone new to the fandom with no connections- I was able to meet and hangout with local furries. Barq did its job. But it has its issues. There is something to be said about how almost EVERYONE wants to move to discord or tele as soon as possible after becoming mutuals. Not a great sign for your app when everyone wants to get off of it as quickly as possible. You can add shortcuts to your other social media (Twitter, instagram, Etc.) onto your barq account but you can’t remove them. If you change your twitter handle the shortcut will be stuck there broken. Or if you just want to remove it for any reason, you can’t. I’ve seen this on many accounts including my own. You also can’t send images in chat. I’m giving five starts only because the developers are continually working on improving the app and I believe it has the potential to be great.

5/5Great app!
I downloaded this app immediately after finding out about it! The first thought I had was “A dating/meeting app specifically for the furry community?? Sign me up!” So far, I have connected and met in person with approximately 7 people that are now good friends of mine and I also met my current partner through this app as well! Can’t promise the results will be the same for everyone but I will say that everyone I have matched and messaged with has been kind, open and easy to communicate with, I would highly recommend giving this app a try if you want to expand your social circle or are looking for something more!

5/5Found the love of my life!
I have this app to thank for finding my current partner! Found his profile by chance and we got to meet at a convention we were both attending at the time. I have never appreciated a singular app more in my life than this one. And that’s not even mentioning all the amazing people I’ve met and the friends I’ve made! Good luck to everyone else out there! Keep searching and you’ll find that special person (or the friends you’re looking for!) 🐾

5/5Better
I think Barq is a really solid app for the furry community. A lot of people probably don’t leave reviews, but I wanted to say something because I’ve had a good experience with it. Most folks are used to using Twitter (X) or Telegram to meet others, but Barq honestly does a great job offering similar features, just more focused on the furry scene. Yeah, there might be some weird or awkward people on here—but that’s true for any app. Overall, I think it’s a great space to connect with others, and I really appreciate the effort the Barq team puts into it. Keep it up!

2/5Good app, but weak moderation for user safety
I’ve genuinely enjoyed using this app and have always been happy with its features and overall experience. The interface is nice, and the app offers a lot of functionality that works well. It is always delightful to be able to see furries around you, even when you are in a place where you don’t expect there to be furries. However, user safety, specifically around non-consensual content, is handled very poorly on this platform. In simple terms, if someone posts explicit artwork depicting you without your consent, the app does not handle it the way most other platforms do. After reporting the issue to the moderation team, users may be told that the team is entirely volunteer-based and does not have the time or resources to take action, and the content may continue to be hosted despite clear notice that it is non-consensual. It is quite concerning that an app of this nature lacks a properly resourced moderation team and relies on the explanation that moderation is volunteer-run when serious safety issues are reported. This shows that the app does not provide effective safety mechanisms for its users. While the app itself has strong features, the lack of meaningful moderation in situations involving non-consensual explicit content is something potential users should be aware of.
