1. 5/5One of my favorite cards

   This company stuck by me through some very difficult times recently. I remember adding an auto-pay function to my account maybe two years ago that just payed the minimum amount due per month, $25. Then in some pretty catastrophic bad luck I lost my iPhone on a bike ride. For most people this would not be a big deal, but I also happened to be carrying my laptop with me which would be the tool I could use to access my information in case of a lost phone. Incredibly, my laptop screen cracked severely on the same ride and I lost both of my devices at once. From that point on it has been over two years of trying everything I can to get my access back to all of my old accounts. Email addresses I’ve had since I was a kid, all my credit cards and investing accounts, all of my photos and videos, everything I had been doing for 15 years was gone. I used password generators mostly so it was catastrophic when I needed to remember some passwords that was simply impossible. This credit cards stayed active for me with my minimum payments automatically being payed every month. After I managed to crack a few of my old accounts and use some others for verification purposes, I unlocked this account and opened it up and everything was exactly as I had left it except there was about 25 minimum payments made in a row. During that same time I had at least 3 credit cards cancel my account, even with auto-pay activated. I appreciate this card company for sticking by me through all of this. Chase and Avant.

2. 5/5Customer Service and account service is bad

   So I have called in multiply times to do my address change when I moved. I called all my banks and credit card companies and so I have moved being military quite often. Well this last move all my banking institutions did my change of address except for Avant. I have called and emailed multiple times they claim they have mailed out my card to find out they didn’t. Now they want a copy of my lease or drivers license which sounds really bogus since all my other banks never requested anything of the sort. We are in 2025 and this creditor is behind in the times. Especially if the post office has my new address reflective on every piece of parcel that comes to me with my new address being my documented official address. I have paid off my cards and loans in preparation to close this account. Too many headaches for a card I haven’t received yet since October 2024. The customer service is subpar and very low quality and the management as well. My capital one cards are way better and my credit one and my credit union cards this bank truly is low quality you pay for the services you receive which are none.

   I tried to use my card and got a fraud alert for no reason as I had to use the card twice earlier that day. The fraud alert came via a text message to which I responded that it was in fact me. In spite of this, Avant would not let me complete the transaction. I called Customer Service and was assured that the gentleman was going to reset my account so that I could use it in 5 to 10 minutes. I waited five to to pay for the purchase again, and again it was declined. The next day I went to the grocery store and tried to buy groceries and my card was declined. When I called Customer Service this time they told me that the additional declined purchase, which was not my fault since they told me to wait 5 to 10 again which I did, resulted in a situation where I now needed to send a copy of my government issued ID to prove it was me. At no time did anyone the day before indicate that I was going to have to do this. At no time did I receive a text or other type of message indicating that I would need to do this. And where was I sending? This government issued ID too? I am not an accustomed nor accepting of the idea of sending my government issued ID to some random person who gives me an address over the phone. I have had this card for years and never had this problem. I find the overwhelming problem to be the horrific customer service that I received when I called the Customer Service service line for My Account account. Of this, I will be closing my account and filing a formal complaint.

4. 1/5First Impression ZERO stars if I could

   I’ve signed up for this card since July 25th, 2025 got approved they told me 7-10 business days to receive my card in the mail. 10 days passed I called the lady told me oh no it’s not 7-10 business days it’s 10-15 business days so I should wait 5 more days it will arrive. I’ve had to travel. The additional 5 days passed still no card. I called again they said it should still be on its way. At this point I have to travel for a while so I’m asking if I can request expedited shipping for the card, NO I cannot, I was told I have to wait another 10-15 business days for the card to arrive. Ofc I’m traveling and the 15 business days have passed its now going onto 20 business days. And the card still has not arrived to my shipping address. I am out of that card, the information I am getting from multiple customer reps don’t align which leads me to believe that they are just making stuff up from 7-10 days to 10-15 days….. even with the inconvenience they don’t even have an option to expedite the card delivery to me. Very very very disappointed!!! Very very very bad start!!!!! Customer service seems inefficient, multiple people giving different responses. And no real action plan to resolve the issue. Almost like I got to start over from the beginning and wait and hope I get my card. It’s now over 1 month and I have not received my physical card.

5. 1/5Unsatisfied customer

   This mobile banking app is by far the worse one I’ve ever used. Their customer service people can’t help you with anything really they just keep apologizing. I originally had level but never used it. When I decided to start using it it’s been nothing but a headache. 1st I can’t access the app because I couldn’t remember the password. So I’m order to change my password I need the original number I signed up with which I no longer have. So they tell me to send them documentation like a phone bill. Which I don’t possess any longer. My current phone is in my husband name who pays the bill. So they can’t access me without have that. 2nd the PIN number can’t remember what I put for that either so once again they tell me the only way to change this is thru the app which I can’t access without the password. So now I added money to account thru cash app and tried to withdraw at an atm hoping I would figure out the pin at least. Nope to many failed attempts locks my card up. Avant- customer service says it shows an available balance and I should have access. So when I tried to use it again it still doesn’t work. I call them back and they said well it says something about suspicious activity. Well what kind of suspicious activity because clearly there’s nothing suspicious going on here I just want my money out. She had no idea what to do or say. So she tell my their specialist was gonna handle it and this gonna take 1 to3 business days. So I better hope I don’t need this money any time soon. They want you to do all this verifying over the phone just tell me there’s nothing you can do. What I joke
