1. 3/5New update making it worse

   Sorry to post a negative review, but I feel like you should be aware. With the new update, I have to use to additional steps to make sure my connection is working. It’s already a pain to have to keep the app itself open, and in the Network section. I also have to keep the Settings app open to Cellular all the time, just to keep a connection. I now have to go back, then select “Cellular” as well as having to go to the home page of the Active Armor app and select “Network” to make sure it’s working. I was already having to do the first two things all the time. (Bad service outside of the city.) Now I have to do two more steps, so I spend a ridiculous amount of time just trying to make sure my connection is working properly. I know this is a bit long already, but I also need to let you know that tone of voice is difficult to get through text. So, please know I’m trying to be informative, not grumpy. :) After receiving feedback, I should have clarified. We live in a rural area with two options for internet (both are satellite). Even though we’ve lived here for over ten years, no other options have become available for internet. My phone works much faster with the WiFi turned off, when I’m at home. I know it’s hard to believe in this day and age, but there are still very few internet options available to many Americans who live in rural areas. I know we have wanted AT&T internet for quite some time, though. ;)

2. 1/5This app is a share your spam numbers you got

   I think this app is trash. I get 10 to 20 spam text daily & spam calls. It is like using this app I got more spam. Also this app is for the paying customers to do AT&T job by reporting each and every spam text or calls because they just keep a log of what paying customers report AT&T doesn’t do anything other then share that other customers reported the same number as spam! I gotten calls that have been confirmed as a spam call. It lets 100% of spam calls on my Applewatch. Before you could copy and paste phone numbers to report now you have to type each phone number or type the number the text message then copy it because you have to remove the number 1 prefix & spaces also dash in between the number. I am paying $100 a month for trash AT&T service when other cellphone companies charge less like boost mobile even mint mobile. Also I have over 500 spam text & spam calls I have reported and counting. I am getting even more spam during election time every day like clock work 20 or more daily. AT&T should be paying me for the harassment I get daily nope I am paying them $100 dollars a month for it. I will leave AT&T this month August 2024 after 24 years of over paying for trash service! Update I switched to Boost Mobile already and have more better reception as in bars then AT&T plus I no longer use this AT&T app and the spam text stopped. Boost Mobile for only $25 a month versus the $100 a month I was paying AT&T.

3. 1/5Doesn’t help

   I’d prefer its predecessor. The amount of spam/scam calls I have had since getting this app is unbearable. The only way to stop them completely is a setting within the phone itself. By blocking ALL unknown numbers. Can’t do that though. I don’t program all numbers I call or have received calls from. So, does this app help? Maybe, maybe not! Either way in my opinion, it’s junk. With the money that I have forked out to AT&T, and I’m sure everyone else has as well. You’d think they’d be ahead of the curve. (Edit) I have recently turned on a “focus” on my phone. Making it to where I still get the calls but they get forwarded to voicemail if I am not using my phone if I am not using it at that current moment. In the average day I get 8+ spam calls. Starting at about 8 am and not stopping till about 9 - 10 pm. As of writing this edit in is 1:30 in the afternoon and I have received 4 spam calls already. I still stand by what I previously said. Active armor is junk. The only thing that is more junk is the fact that we need junk protection to protect us from junk people. (Edit 2) In the timespan of 52 hours I have received 26 calls that have thankfully been silenced due to my focus settings. An average of 1 call every 2 hours. ACTIVE ARMOR DOES NOTHING TO STOP SPAM CALLING!

   UPDATE: Imagine getting a developer’s response to tell you how to make settings you already have in place. Imagine a developer’s response that assumes you don’t know what you are talking about and just decided to write a review about how terrible their application is just for entertainment. Imagine having spent hours on the phone with the developer’s company and having their own advanced technical service representatives confirming how terrible the product actually is and confirming it in facts doesn’t do its intended purpose. Imagine a company that controls all of the communications to and from a device, develops an application that they parlay into a service they want to charge certain customers for to do the very thing this application claims to do at no cost, and it actually doesn’t work. May I reintroduce to you AT&T’s ActiveArmor and AT&T. Imagine a mobile phone company that offers an application and service to filter unknown senders and when enabled you get more than if it’s not enabled. Imagine a mobile phone company that has had a data breach allowing your information to be purchased by nefarious individuals and your spam, unknown calls, and unknown texts skyrocket. Imagine no more. May I present to you AT&T and ActiveArmor, look no further.

   I decided after getting 20 spam calls in one day to try an app. I have AT&T, so I figured, why not? I’ve not had any problems with the software. I browsed the app to see my options. I only set it up to block the scam calls, and some of the nuisance calls, flagged the nuisance calls not blocked and allowed all others. I have my phone back!! I immediately looked at all the flagged calls and frustrated people who wrote reports on the numbers, blocking them all. Today, in 2 minutes, the same number called 19 times!! Which I’m assuming means it’s disconnecting the call. I never liked the idea of blocked calls getting access to my voice mail. I want them disconnected immediately. Today the total calls blocked were 36 including the 19 from one number. Most called one time, some 3 times and the one 19 times. One call came through which was spam, so I reported it, and it’s blocked for future users. Genius! I love seeing my fellow frustrated phone users working together. Honestly, if I had seen all the reviews from people having problems with the app, I might not have tried it. I know it has to be working for many because I’ve had 1 spam call in the three days I’ve been using it. There are so many reports on the numbers it blocks which seem to be written by the public, so people are using it. It is working! No more spam calls all day and night!! I can answer my phone like a human, not “what do you want?” Like a crazed person so used to spammers I was getting hateful and ready to block everyone. We’re in this together peeps! Happy blocking!!!
