"body": "I love Duolingo and have always had an interest in tarot and astrology so this seemed up my alley. I enjoyed my experience with the app so I dropped the amount for a lifetime membership attached to my Apple account. My phone was damaged from being dropped and I had to replace it. Now I am trying to restore it, but the text “Restore Purchase” on the plan selection screen doesn’t trigger an action. Update: I do give updates with this stuff. It’s been a reasonable amount of time since my first review that I would have thought I would at least get a response if not have the glitch fixed. So I figured maybe if I lower the rating until costumer service skills are demonstrated, that might help.",

"title": "Can’t even try it until you pay",
"body": "I was excited to try this app because I’m interested in learning Tarot, and the “like Duolingo but for Tarot” pitch really worked on me because I have an almost 3,000-day Duolingo streak (!!). Unfortunately, when you download it, you can’t even VIEW the app without logging in — and you can’t log in unless you subscribe for $9.99 per month. I’ve had lots of apps stop me from going very far without subscribing, but it’s a first for me to see an app that wants you to subscribe without even trying it or seeing what the user interface looks like. Why would I do that? I subscribe to an embarrassing number of apps and have no problem giving developers money for the content they work hard to produce. I never give a low star rating because an app wants you to pay to use it. But to convince me to download your app (to boost your download numbers) and then not even give me the ability to try before I buy — that’s a waste of my time, and it’s presumptuous, and that doesn’t sit right. If these people had provided the opportunity for me to try even one card’s worth of tarot practice, they probably could have gotten a year’s worth of money out of me.",

"body": "I’ve always been interested in astrology, numerology and tarot, but never had an easy format with which to learn. I came across this app and tried the first free lesson before bed one night, and realized that not only did I learn a lot, but I could absolutely see this cutting down on my nightly social media use as well. Now, instead of doom scrolling those few minutes before I get tired enough to sleep, I use this. I also use it if I wake up in the middle of the night and cannot get back to sleep. I really enjoy the lessons and seem to be retaining them well. I’m excited to finally learn, and I definitely recommend. I hope they add a Human Design training section one day soon!",

"body": "I’ve read tarot for many years now and do this as a hobby. Sometimes I’m contracted to read at small gatherings, in Southern California. I downloaded this to jog my memory and gain a fresh perspective. Sometimes I find that I’m set in my old ways with my original research. So far, I really like their approach and multiple choice questions. I haven’t been charged for anything. Not sure if it’s free but I’ll enjoy what it has to offer for as long as it’s available. It’s definitely worth your time, whether you’re a novice or seasoned reader.",

"body": "There’s a lot of lessons (hundreds) and concepts are explained simply using metaphor and concision. But sometimes the questions are stupid, like asking me if a certain sign should watch its gut health or stress management.. shouldn’t we all?? Or asking me twice where a sign falls in the zodiac. It’s also very obviously written by AI, which I personally do not mind as a tool but I do not like lack of transparency about it. I think the main advantage of this app is how it teaches you through engaging metaphors and concise explanations. Honestly I could have just uploaded a bunch of astrology books to ChatGPT and asked it to do the same, but I guess this app saves me time. I probably won’t purchase another subscription after mine runs its course.",
