1. 3/5Support is good, but current version needs minor fixes

   Apple Support is the best I’ve had in the tech world. They’ve changed over the 10+ years I’ve been a customer both in ways I like and dislike. But this review is strictly about two things: reaffirming Apple’s top tier service, and critique of the current version’s shortcomings. Do not let the 3 star rating confuse you: it’s only due to the current version in contrast to latest iOS features. iOS 17 is the most recent major revision of Apple’s mobile OS I’ve used. It’s introduced privacy features I could have only dreamed about in the past. But unfortunately if you have your security settings hardened, this can stop you from getting support through this app. It’s because the support messages are handled by the Messages app, and not this app. Practically speaking this means I have to loosen security in Messages to use this. Anyone who is intently making good use of these privacy settings are not going to want to compromise. And that’s where I’m at on the matter. Apple’s customer service is wonderful. You can walk into physical stores in any country they have them and get your Apple device serviced without shipping it anywhere. I’ve used this app before and the customer service is comparable despite being remote. I just can’t access that service the way I’m comfortable with right now. Switching support messages to the Apple Support app means I can loosen security settings for just first party support. I’d do that for Apple, but not everyone who messages me.

2. 5/5Disney #1 in customer service? Apple may change that with this app alone!

   I’m a very long time IT guy that hates to write reviews. But, over been around this block many times. Know support inside out from every prospective and when I as a consumer run into the most insane why have they not fixed this yet because as IT I know it is incredibly simple to do so, I stumbled upon this app and thought I’d give it a try. Now I’m not a big supporter of big brother by any means and am comfortable that Apple does every thing they absolutely can to protect my privacy on my iPhone so when this app launched and everything Apple knew about me, my phone, my Apple ID, my devices, and instant live chat, took my question, answered correctly to point me in the right direction in one sentence, any thing else sir, like a transcript...BAM! I’ve tested, reviewed, complained, threw out plenty of support software and revised help desk playbooks designed to appear to be helpful ends up in frustration over the rep completely missing the point or has a difficult time understanding the issue. I know they mean to help but all of us have suffered the effects of something broken maybe simple but it’s just way to hard to deal with horrible product support. And, the bigger the company the worse it gets. So, Apple, my hat is off to you on this one. It is THE best consumer level support software/chat/reference/all in one convenient at the touch of the icon app ever developed. And being Apple, it will be consistent going forward. I have not yet even gone back to open it a second time to really see what is there as so much flashed by when it zoomed to chat that I now really do need to go explore. Thanks Apple, and yes it is horrible we pay a much higher price for Apple devices and for a very good reason. Quality. Disney yes, love you and yes your are number one and will probably always be, but Apple you have number 2 in my book.

3. 1/5A Waste Of $3,000

   I purchased a 2020 Macbook Pro 16” Laptop last year for a total price of $3,000. I bought the device off the website, I bought it brand new, and I even spent $300 on the Warranty. 1 year later, my laptop screen breaks. I took my laptop into a store to get it repaired in May, an Apple certified store. That $300 warranty may have covered the costs, but it’s definitely NOT worth the purchase of this computer. I bought this computer for school, for music, and when I was purchasing it I thought I was making an investment. The moment anything goes wrong whatsoever, Apple refuses to help you. And on top of that, I have now learned that I won’t be able to even GET the new screen in UNTIL SEPTEMBER. So this computer that I already paid $3000 for, I already spent $300 on a warranty, can’t be used until SEPTEMBER. Because all of their current screens are going towards new models, instead of assisting loyal customers, Apple is more concerned with drawing in new ones. If I pay $300 for your warranty then I would hope that it would at least be somewhat efficient. That the $300 wouldn’t go to waste, but it is. This is by far the most frustrated I’ve been and everyone I talk to with Apple support is telling me that it’ll just be quicker to buy a new computer. Not everyone has the money for that, and the amount of time I’ve put into this current one will be completely wasted. I’m sick and tired of trying with this company, and I’m sick and tired of paying. If you want to keep customers, try to help them.

4. 1/5No Valid Answer - Support No Help

   iPhone home app has been deleted from phone and has never been used. Although, this is the case the Home app still appears in iCloud settings, and Homekit (never used) is listed in the Privacy menu. Home control has been disabled under Face ID & Passcode but when the phone is reset, restarted and Apple ID password changed it continues to Enable. Why? Why? Why? When Home Control is ghost enabled problems occur; dropped/disconnected calls, app passwords changed, iPhone backups not initiated by me, to name a few. Wait let me back track how did I discover that Home Control was 'ghost' enabling? While working with a Apple Tech via remote who saw it happen. Wth??? Yes! So, the phone was factory reset. A new Sim installed. The problem did not stop. It starts right back after a slight reprieve. I questioned whether it was possible that someone STALKER fraudulently, with stolen information, added the device to their family account as an "under age device" by fooling the cellular provider, or illegally accessing the phone and sending a share request (within Find My or iMessage?) to themselves as the administrator. Allowing them to gain access by claiming the phone belongs to a child negating a factory reset. Falsely adding the phone with stolen information to a 'Developer' account. Somehow this is occurring. Apparently the Apple iPhone is hackable. Even if the company refuses to admit it. No Valid Answer BTW, I only own an iPhone, AirPods Pro and no other accessories. Pretty low tech.

5. 2/5Please give me a rest

   It’s been such a difficult time having this phone. There is so many complications and so many layers of passwords that I didn’t even realise that there was an Apple account along with another account, for someone who’s not very good at computers buying this phone is a disaster. Had to purchase two because my identity is compromised. I’m not certain if I was hacked by my roommate, or someone from afar, but I can tell you this but these particular people messed with me for the last three weeks, and honestly the kind of stuff that I found in that phone, I believe it was someone I know. I think it was personal, I didn’t secure my phone well enough initially and now I’m paying the consequences. I think it’s really important that someone from the store would ask. Have you purchased an iPhone before? Because setting that phone up for myself, I was completely incompetent. I didn’t put a recovery, I didn’t secure my emails, I didn’t even know about two-step verification and nobody even told me anything about it so I just ran around for the last year and a half with a completely vulnerable phone.I didn’t even know about a recovery. And someone got into my email through an old email and attached to my recovery email and after that it was over.
