  1. 5/5Popular mechanics article on consciousness research today in the news

This is not a review of the actual article just my opinion about the headline and the body of the article should be more thoroughly scrutinized but not by me today. I have been hoping there would be more research in the field of consciousness. Many chiropractors and naturalpaths utilize applied kinesiology or AK which is known as muscle testing in the parlance of our times. This might be why it is so effective because their theory in complementary medicine is that consciousness is outside of our brain and we are just antennas tapping into that universal resource. Also that we have access to all knowledge as it has been recorded in reality throughout time & human history. This should be investigated further so that people can determine truth from falsehoods for themselves and not rely on news media or other outside information sources which are beyond most peoples grasp due to highly specialized fields like law, medicine and scientific research. We really need a quick way to determine the validity of someone and someone’s proclamations especially in the political realm. Most recently I used muscle testing by making a statement about the missile that landed near the hospital in Gaza. I immediately determined that it was not an Israeli missile and that it was an errant missile launched from within Gaza. Information like that could be very helpful to help calm peoples nerves down this is getting out of control because everybody’s opinion is not worthy of consideration if it’s not factual. DT

  2. 3/5Good Articles, Variety

The apple news app has a good variety if articles about various subjects. They seem to pick the most important articles from various publications, which keeps you from having to read from a lot of other sources. There are a lot of articles which you can read in the free version, and more if you have the paid version. Some of the articles which they pick are very negative, however, and seem to be someone's lists of things other people are doing wrong (such as in their personal relationships). Very discouraging to read this kind of thing in the middle of the pandemic and with everything which is going on in the world today. Even just seeing the titles of those articles is discouraging, as one scrolls down the news app. Those kind of articles could be written in more positive terms - such as good behaviors to try to adapt. Many people are having a hard time, and doing their best to survive, and do not need to see that kind if negative news article. Some of them are trying to recover from health issues due to COVID, or are taking care of other family members, and are probably not able to do everything listed in the article because of limited time and energy. It would be great to see more articles about positive things that caregivers or nurses/doctors are doing to help others. Also why are those kind of negative articles included in a news app? You'd think Apple would be more sensitive to what articles are included. Good app, except for those kind of articles.

  3. 5/5Information Highway to Hope for a Stronger Democracy

I love keeping up with current news from this site, I want to see more voters read more News stories, not just depend on TV News. I love to share News, in America the News is about when good things happen and also when bad things happen, I love when the truth is in an American News Story, I love Pro and Con reporting on current or popular issues, no one should accept only one aspect or perspective on certain topics such pollution or climate change for example, I watched TV News when I started kindergarten with my family every evening, nightly news, but now TV tries to make news as entertainment, that is not what I expect from a news source on TV. So I appreciate those journalists who make every endeavor to write informative articles that are true, they stick their necks out to do this and also stick their noses in other people’s lives or business to cause Americans to rely on critical thinking skills. I remember learning in school back in the late 1960’s about William Randolph Hearst owning the nationwide Newspaper, plus learning of “ muckrakers “ and “ yellow journalism “ , I really despise Ronald Reagan for bringing the idea of wealthy people being better than poor or working class citizens, I despise Fox News propaganda, I despise that the idea that Church and State can be combined such as praying in public schools as a mandatory act. I absolutely will accept the Pledge of Allegiance being said every morning in a public school before classes start but not prayer in public schools. I grew up praying in church not school. As I stated I like this news site, it’s good.

  4. 2/5Why pay?

If I’m going to get so many ADs even when paying then why pay? I prefer to just go to the actual website for most sites. There I get less ads and at least I don’t get the same hearing aid ads or random ads that kind of look and take up the entire page whether or not I’m looking at an iPad or an iPhone whatever the ad takes up most of the page and always breaks up the articles in weird ways. I get that I’m paying for access to things I wouldn’t have normally, but if I paid for something like National Geographic, which I do separately, I don’t get any ads. I would hope that I would get less ads as an apple subscriber or at least not have them interrupt my article in such annoying ways numerous times if the article is one page I could have 2 to 3 ads and that just is unnecessary. I don’t think it’s really paying for access to articles that I necessarily need and again I’d rather know that I’m supporting these websites rather than question if I’m just paying to get access to it and know if it’s going to the actual news organizations just to having access and still having ads and then to have it just so in your face on top of that, I don’t get it. I will see what I do like is the games I like the sudoku I like the mini crossword and the crossword, but that’s pretty much it and you don’t need to pay for that and I don’t get ads for that which to me I would almost understand a subscription for that more than paying for access to give certain new sites pennies and still get ads and again to have them so in your face and interruptive

  5. 2/5Really no difference paying for it or having it free

I am not surprised I am more disappointing. Over the years Apple corporation has been more about themselves and less about the people who are still buying their products. This application I’m canceling, because I cannot really see a difference between having it for nothing and paying for it monthly for nine dollars. If you’ve ever used the free portion of this application. some of the major news outlets won’t open unless you pay them a monthly subscription. It’s frustrating and misleading. I thought that paying monthly for this application would allow me access to the stories listed by the application. Maybe a few allow you but the major news outlets don’t. Unlike most Apps available on the app store this app is owned maintained and developed by apple. I’m a month into my three week trial. Decided to cancel before time runs out and start paying. Try it for yourselves while the trail ends. Another example of poor service is I purchased iPad 11 pro. My screen cracked when I took a fall. I bought insurance for all my seven device’s. Insurance said they won’t fix it. But they will replace it for $300. I drove to the Apple Store 60 miles and was told that you can’t replace the screen. They wouldn’t even look at it. They tried to sell me a new one for the same original price. Found out later when I called apple that they can be fixed. I was connected to their repair/replacement department that they don’t replace iPad screens. It’s the best iPad I ever owned. Apple has no clue. So if you purchase this app and upgrade to monthly pay. You will see.
