  1. 5/5SCAM ALERT! The app is not a scam itself but SCAMMERS are using it to steal your information!

Today I received an email from “Norton Security” with a payment invoice of over $600 for Deluxe 360 Theft Protection on all devices. I was frantic! First off because I have never purchased Norton Security and it was an extreme amount of money for me at the moment that was supposedly to be charged to my account. At the bottom of the invoice page there was a customer support line number to call specifically if you did not make the purchase or authorize the payment. I call the number, the person that answers begins to “help me” tells me to open my PayPal app and check if the transaction has processed. I tell him there is no recent transaction, he’s like okay open up your bank app to check your bank account. Again, no recent transaction. He said okay the payment is probably still pending that’s why it doesn’t appear but I will help you cancel the purchase so you won’t be charged. He then proceeds to ask me to open my App Store and download THIS APP. I began questioning why do I have to download an app?? He started to get a bit defensive and raising his voice saying this was a Norton App and I needed to download it to cancel the purchase. I did not download it but I told him it was loading while I read the reviews on here. He was very impatient and almost desperate for me to tell him as soon as it had finished downloading but I never did and just hung up on him. It was a close one but glad I caught on to the red flags and glad I saw the scam reviews on here!

  2. 5/5Real app - IT WORKS AS INTENDED

It’s a remote control app. Of course you’re giving them access to your device, duh. And for all those people who are leaving 1 star reviews, let me ask you even CHECK the reviews before downloading this supposed “scam” app? No, you didn’t. So don’t leave a 1 star review. You got scammed, and it’s your fault that this “microsoft”/“amazon”/“cash app” indian person who is totally not a scammer just scammed you. For the app, it works great! :D It works as intended, without any weird paywalls. Only issue is holding and dragging with the touchpad controls, and it doesn’t support custom cursors as every time you move your mouse, it would invert the mouse hue every second frame. And it’s only 60 fps for the mouse. No big deal, and this isn’t supposed to be a bug report as this is a review, but I’d figured that I’d still leave it here since I’m too lazy to go on their website. Anyway, please rate the app based on IF IT WORKED OR NOT, not “oh no i got scammed 😭😭😭”. Stop it. It’s cringe. Get some help.

  3. 5/5It’s not the app’s fault you got scammed

This is honestly REALLY annoying to see all of these 1 star reviews from people who don’t understand that AnyDesk has nothing to do with them falling for a scammer’s lie. If someone lied and told you to give them an extra key to your house, and you get an extra key made and give it to them, and then they steal your stuff, why would that be the fault of whoever made that extra key for you?? Bashing the key maker and trying to ruin their reputation because YOU did something dumb that you now regret makes no sense. Yes, technically that key was used to steal from you. But it’s the SCAMMER who told you to get it, and YOU who got it. The person making the key knows nothing, and is at fault for nothing. All they did was provide the service YOU requested. Stop punishing these developers because you didn’t know better and showed a stranger your bank account. To give the devs some actual feedback: AnyDesk is an excellent remote device access application, and I’ve been using it for years with not problems. It’s a simple interface that opens up a whole new world of convenience with allowing me a quick and reliable means to control my devices no matter where I’m at. It’s the best on the market for apps of this kind, in my opinion, and it’s free for personal use!! Seriously. This is a great app with great functionality that is FREE, and I’m so sorry to the devs for having to see your rating suffer so much because you’re being blamed for others dumb mistakes. I really appreciate those who work on this app. Thank you.

  4. 2/5Be Diligent and Aware

The app does what it’s supposed to do but scammers are monopolizing on its capabilities. I too have had the same experience as many users. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP IF YOU DON’T PERSONALLY KNOW THE PERSON ON THE OTHER END. Learn from our mistakes. I too had an issue with my AirPods so I googled Apple Support and called the number provided. Mind you, they did not call me so I thought it was legit. After troubleshooting my AirPods we came to the conclusion they would be shipping me a replacement pair. Literally they troubleshooted with me! That’s when they told me there’s an issue with ApplePay and they would need to authenticate my account another way and to download this app to authenticate through Apple’s Secure Server. Long story short I eventually downloaded it but when they started asking for me to go to my bank app I said no way. Obviously knew at that time they were not Apple. This is a Remote Desktop App which means they can see everything you do. Luckily I didn’t go to my bank app or who knows what they could have seen. And thank goodness Apple Wallet only shows last 4 digits of your cc’s or I’d be screwed. These scammers are getting really good. I’m someone that knows better and they still had me going at first because I called them and thought it was really Apple. I gave it 2 stars because this company should place a disclaimer at the very top of their download to warn people it’s being used maliciously. Had I’d seen that things would have been different. Plus, I don’t know what else those people can do while I was “sharing”. So it would be nice to know if they could only view or got actual access to my phone. Hopefully the developers will take note and address this their app and not in the reviews section. Kind of amazed they aren’t addressing it.

  5. 1/5Scammer delight

Scammers pretending to be customer service use this to take advantage of people just looking for help. I almost fell victim. My Facebook account was hacked and there’s zero Facebook support so I searched google for a phone number. Google search comes back with 3 separate sponsored Facebook ads with support numbers. So I call one and couldn’t understand the person from India. So I click on another and the number I click isn’t the number that pops up to call. This person answers with hello Facebook customer support may I help you. So I tell him my account is hacked and he’s like we can help that. Gives me a speech of some sort. Then asks me to download anydesk app so he can help me. So I did and he asks me to open Facebook and put my info in and then gives me a number to put in instead of my password. Which didn’t work. He says my Facebook has been accessed in all these different places. 7 to be exact. Out of the 7. 5 I’ve been to. 2 I had not. But I’ve basically given the person the info he was just telling me. Once he started asking about venmo and Zelle and I’m like what. Then about if I sell or buy on marketplace. I’m like I have Venmo but I’ve never used it on fb. Then he’s like I see here they tried to access your venmo and asked me to open it. Then asked if the payment used on it is old or new and I’m like I don’t ever use it so idk. Then he’s like can you open the banking app that’s associated with the venmo. That’s when I hung up. What would Facebook customer service need anything with my accounts that do with money. It’s like, I’m just trying to access my fb again. I’m pretty smart about this kind of stuff. Can’t believe I let him go that far. My disappointment is why are scammer numbers pretending to be Facebook sponsored by google when you do a search.

BEWARE:This app may be a virus. Downloads all kind of items and scare items in the name of getting your money back. Would not uninstall from your phones and lap easily.
