  1. 5/5Innovative Wind Estimator - Failing Version Released 7/5/24

EDIT: I’ve heard back from an email I sent a few hours ago to the developer. He’s very interested in resolving the issue I’m experiencing. I’m correcting my previous 1 star rating, & providing a rating (5 stars) based on my previous experiences with this app, which have all been FANTASTIC. Thank you for your reply to my concern & creating a very functional & informational application for those looking for these aspects. ✨🏆✨ Previous review: The cool new Innovative Wind Estimator has a failing grade 4 days after being launched in the app. The app constantly crashes when ‘analyzing wind’ process runs. Tried a sitting still when advised to ‘keep device stationary for wind estimate…’, placing on a flat surface, then a power cycle, uninstalled the app & reinstalled. Same result. Crash. Never moving past the wind analysis. Please help. Love the app & would like to continue using it. I hope to return for an edit to this poor review. Thx.

  2. 5/5Baro-Swiss army knife

This app is a true Swiss Army knife for all things barometric. Clear, concise displays for each of its major functions, allowing the user to zoom in to see the trend over the last few hours, or see the long range weather patterns. As a sailor, I especially like the single-station wind estimates based on recent pressure trends, and when in cell range, I often use local METAR reports. Outstanding app!!

  3. 5/5Highly recommended

Well I just spent 20 minutes writing a long 1000% positive review. Then the screen went blank, so I’m guessing the review was lost so I’m not doing that again. Highly recommended, very helpful for my conditions. Only thing I can suggest is that I would like to upgrade but I’m not into the automatic payments. If you added also a manual monthly payment option I’m all in. Thanks, keep up the good work and looking forward to any and all future additions to this app. 👍🏻 UPDATE.. After only 2 weeks I’ve decided to subscribe, this app is kickass, VERY helpful with my health conditions. I wanted to subscribe to see what more awesome features I get and to help the developer to make it even better!!! Thanks !!

  4. 5/5Best and most diversified app

Best app I have found for barometer. Readings are current and instantaneous. Also, user can customize the settings for their use which makes this app one of a kind in this category. Customized alerts can notify users of changes in pressure, up or down. Lastly, the developer is hands-on and responds to any feedback, good or bad. I’ve never have experienced a developer who is so enthusiastic and passionate about their app!

  5. 5/5Love the app

Earlier problems that I had have been eliminated by the very responsive developer. There now is an option to share a screen with someone else. If I choose a point in time on my screen, and it shows as a vertical line on my screen, would it be possible to have that also as part of what the receiver sees when I share that screen?

  • 4.71

Fixed iOS-specific compatibility issue Live Activity. Fixed issue with weather data not updating when the app is running continuously in the background.

  • 4.72

Fixed critical bug for the "What's new" screen.

  • 4.73

Fixed remaining issues with the app's Live Activity feature. Fixed a related issue on the Watch that caused background operation to continue when not desired. Reconfigure the Watch's background operation option to be easier to use and made it distinct from the related Live Activity feature on the iPhone app. Fixed issue with resetting altimeter stats on the iPhone and Watch altimeter screens. As always, if you see anything that's not working properly, please let me know at [email protected] and I will investigate.

  • 4.74

Upgraded the barometer-based forecast to use the famous Zambretti Forecaster algorithm. Made enhancements to make background updates even more robust. Added internal enhancements to allow gracefully "riding through" periods of time when both GPS and the OS-altimeter are unavailable or inaccurate. Added iPad support. • 4.78

Added new option to receive weather notifications when a condition is no longer active. Fixed issue with weather forecast notifications sometimes not being sent. Various minor enhancements and bug fixes.

  • 4.80

The History feature has been re-architected for improved performance and responsiveness by caching previously downloaded data. In addition, the app will now cache new days of history data on your device, and will upload new history to the cloud when an internet connection is available. This means that you can be offline for extended periods of time, and new history data will be automatically saved to the cloud once you have an internet connection again. The History feature will now also display the partially-completed history for the current day so you can now see pressure and altitude history right up to the current time. This version adds the ability to switch between displaying altitude-corrected pressure most commonly used for tracking weather-related changes (i.e., what you typically see in weather reports), and absolute pressure which is also sometimes referred to as station pressure. Absolute pressure is simply the air pressure reported by your device’s air pressure sensor. This can be useful for various scenarios such as migraine tracking where absolute pressure - the actual air pressure impacting the body - may be more informative than altitude-adjusted pressure which only shows pressure and pressure changes due to the effects of weather. When the app is displaying absolute pressure, it will be indicated with an “ABS” icon. This applies to widgets, Watch complications, and the history screen as well. You can switch between station pressure and absolute pressure using a new station pressure setting on the options screen in the “Display preferences” section. You can also switch between the two modes on the pressure display screen by tapping on the small barometer dial under the graph when displaying altitude-adjusted pressure, or tapping on the “ABS” icon when displaying absolute pressure. The app also has a number of minor UI improvements such as larger fonts for displaying the start/end dates and displayed time scale under the graph using symbols to indicate the scale range instead of “displayed time”. This version also has a number of bug fixes and internal improvements.
