1. 5/5Effective, but also need improvements

   The subscription is not expensive and there is no bandwidth or traffic limit. That already makes it a good VPN product. The Windows beta client almost never connects although the Chrome extension on the same device works without a problem. The PAC-like rule is handy, what it is now might be enough for browser but to be a global VPN, there is so much left to be done. The software really lags when you import a huge list which commonly works smoothly with a personally built socks server. I know China is not one of the regular places when judging a VPN. AdGuard VPN had been functioning properly a while ago but is getting less and less stable. It is common to see no available locations now. On Windows, I have a fallback v2ray server (based on completely free VPS, domain name, nat64 and CDN, so it not not going to be very reliable) which also helps it to connect to AdGuard servers. However on iOS, VPNs mostly cannot live together so the trick cannot be done and I haven’t figured out a walk-around.

2. 2/5I don’t recommend this.

   The VPN disconnects so often. There is no widget to reconnect from the home screen or to just quickly check if you have been disconnected. If you open the app Wallet VPN is running it will always disconnect and reconnect. If you check your settings you can see that it’s not a visual glitch and that the VPN has actually restarted. I reveals your IP address for a split second which is enough for an ISP or website to know. I would love to say that I hope this will be fixed, but the truth is I have never reached out to an app developer and had such little to no response whatsoever. I am constantly ignored on Twitter, I am ignored on Reddit and even through support I get an open ticket I tell them what they’ve asked and then they close the ticket. I am always blown away I’ve never seen a company go out of their way to actively ignore an issue. I don’t know what is going on over there, but the support you provide to your customers is the worst I’ve ever seen. For all I know the issue I’m experiencing could be fixed really easily, but I’ll never get an answer. If nudging the developer as the app suggests works then you should have at least 50 for me or more. I’m sure I’ll get a developer response on this review that tells me to do some thing, but I can guarantee if I follow their instructions I will still get ignored at some point or not see a response. It will be a very surface level interaction with no real fixes. TLDR: connection drops often and reveals your IP. The connection and reconnection will alert your ISP that you are using a VPN.

3. 4/5It works but not in all cases

   Well, the app seems to work for most of the cases, but in case when you use apps like Facebook it does not conceal your location. I can see that Facebook still see that I’m in USA even though the settings in the AdGuard VPN are set to a different location. Now even though I changed the location in the Facebook app somewhere in Europe it still sees as I’m located in USA so bunch of ads on my Facebook wall get based on my location. I mention that I have set the Facebook app to not have access to the location or anything like that. I tried different settings in the AdGuard VPN even in combination with AdGuard ads blocker and still not working to conceal the I.P. The ads are still coming in on different apps you might use on the iPad or iPhone. The issue is to block more than just web browser ads. For that there are different apps to do just that for free.

4. 2/5Connection stability - Incredibly slow - App looks good, Ninja characterer’s aesthetics

   It pains me to give this app such a low review because I know, given some the time, these adGuard devs will knock this out of the park just like they did with their other products! So long as Apple can mind their own and not pull any of their weird stuff. However, it’s just not quite there in its current state. And I’d be very hard pressed to pay for the premium at this point in time. It seemed to be rolling pretty well but something was causing it to frequently get disconnected then connect again and so on and so forth. Which may have been causing the other issue of when it was able to get connected it was at extremely slow speeds and and sometimes unloaded and I had to get rid of it for now.! But I will be waiting on to come back and change this review once it’s where we expect it to be, in due time! Because as I mentioned, the app itself it’s looks very good!! I think it’s even cleaner looking than the original app(s). Which are vanity amazing! . The difference imo is the new face of the app. The ninja very cool footing backgtound . All I can say is I can’t wait to be back when she’s really ready to rock

5. 1/5Lousy Customer Support

   Downloaded this software and just after the trial - when it charged me full-price - it started messing with Apple Mail. Customer support was slow and was of absolutely no help. Apple would not refund my money even after Apple Support added that AdGuard is not compatible with Apple Mail. Yesterday AdGuard even verified this in an email to me: We can confirm that AdGuard VPN currently doesn’t work with mail clients. This is a temporary measure to prevent spam emails being sent via our servers. Our developers are working to restore mail client support as soon as possible. As compensation, we can add 30 days to your VPN service after your App Store subscription expires. Please contact us when your subscription is over and remind us. What exactly am I supposed to do with an extra 30 days of an app I cannot use? So I am out $50, no help from AdGuard, and of course no help from Apple since everyone got their money and I got ripped off. I will not recommend AdGuard for their terrible customer service, and this is the last Apple App Store purchase I make.
