1. 2/5High $$$, No Updates for trip delays or changes, Useful for Planning

   I used this app to book my entire European trip for the summer including planes, busses, and trains. The app is helpful in finding different transportation options and mapping out how to get from point A to point B. However, Omio is famous for increasing cost of trips compared to what the ticket costs actually are at the original vendor’s price. The app also does not show you all of the available departure times and different transportation options that are available. It also is not helpful in providing updates such as seat assignment changes and departure/ arrival changes - which I can see creating issues for people who book and plan trips months in advance but don't recieve updated tickets. Hopefully this is a bug they can fix in the future but as for now I look for updated tickets on the vendor websites because my Omio app always had outdated seat assignments/ departure times. The Customer Service team is helpful and easy to get in touch to talk to someone without long waits. In my experience, booking my trip a few months out on the Omio app showed only 4 trains leaving some cities each day, when the actual vendors showed options leaving hourly. I am not sure why Omio doesn’t have their apps updated and synced with vendors but hopefully that changes soon. Ultimately, its a great app to find out what transportation options are available to different locations but with the uncharge on prices and the lack of updated transportation options and not updating the ticket information on the app, I would say there are cheaper and smarter ways to travel without this app. Omio made my European experience more difficult than it needed to be but hopefully if they fix these issues, it can be a better app with a lot of potential in the future.

2. 1/5Omio has Absent customer service - AI would not connect me to live person - SCAMMED

   My father in law suddenly passed away, tried to contact you when I was in Madrid Spain, but AI would not connect me with customer service with next steps. I reached out to my credit card company only to be told that I never canceled the trip, so I lose the original charge. I purchased flex tickets which allowed me to change the date, but charged a fortune, never used any of the train tickets for this trip. All I’m asking is to be reimbursed or receive a credit for the original charge of $84. I’m out $300, since you wouldn’t even exchange emails with me, but I know better than to use your service going forward. At least allow for a real human being to guide me in what to do. You are terrible, terrible customer service and don’t seem to understand in a real emergency, people don’t need an AI bot. Not everything fits into one of two FAQs. You are a scam 3rd party company that charges a huge booking fee on top of what I could have paid with the local transportation company of the European country I was visiting. Even when trains are delayed, since I’ve used Omio many times in past trips, Omio won’t help you reschedule if the train is delayed or the train company cancels the trip! - Omio tells you to contact the actual train company you are traveling with to reschedule. And Omio doesn’t even refund you if it is the train company’s fault!!! They are only a 3rd party company that up charges you, doesn’t refund you the up charge if the train gets canceled, BEWARE OF OMIO! SCAM COMPANY! I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD. I PLAN TO POST THIS ON TRIP ADVISOR, GOOGLE, EVERYWHERE!

   Used this company to book two train trips. 3 days before my first trip, Omio sent me an email informing of a strike that would effect my travel. Being on vacation, I quickly booked flights to avoid dealing with any hassle of trip interruptions. A day before the strike was supposed to start, I had learned the strike had been called off. Omio informed me I needed to contact the train company to receive a refund. They blocked my credit card company from reissuing me my money. Omio customer service through email told me multiple times that the process for a refund can be done online, however, after asking multiple times for screen shots on how to do it, another agent told me it was not possible to do online and everything had to be physically mailed in. I had mailed my information in June to the train company and still have not received any word on if I will be getting a refund. Because of Omio’s email, they should have refunded me my money. The second trip I had booked through them went without a hitch. I would caution using Omio and book directly with the train company as much as possible.

   I booked the train tickets on the app between Bolzano and Venice 2 days before departure. It was my first time there, so I was unaware of scheduled strikes in Italy. When I showed up at the train station all the trains were cancelled how it was scheduled long before! Omio failed to mention this crucial detail during purchase, didn’t send any emails about cancellation, which would have saved me money on a taxi, and should have never sold those tickets in the first place. They refuse to help in any way with refund, saying I have to deal with it myself with Trenitalia, which proved to be extremely difficult, when you don’t live in Italy, and extra difficult because I booked it through Omio! If I’d have gotten tickets from Trenitalia, they’d be able to refund immediately at the station. And this was not the only instance they refused to help. It ruined my trip and I am still waiting for a refund 4 months later. The tickets were also more expensive than if I just got them directly from Trenitalia, so don’t be a naive tourist like me. It might be convenient at first, but you’ll end up paying more and if you have any issues they won’t help you.

   On two separate occasions, I encountered a troubling glitch in the booking process where the date displayed on the booking confirmation was different from the date initially selected. This inconsistency not only led to confusion but also raised concerns about the reliability of the booking system in accurately reflecting user preferences. Furthermore, the challenges extended to the customer care support team, which proved to be exceptionally difficult to reach. In my attempts to address the discrepancies in my bookings, I faced significant delays and obstacles in communication. Of particular note is their unavailability during weekends, whereby urgent issues or queries remained unaddressed until the next week, causing unnecessary frustration, inconvenience for users with time-sensitive concerns and will cost you extra money. Considering the recurrence of these issues and the difficulties in accessing timely assistance, I advise potential customers to NOT USE Omio for their bookings. The combination of a flawed booking system and inadequate customer support responsiveness raises valid concerns about the overall reliability, user-friendliness of the service and legitimacy.

   I have been trying the customer service for 2 days no response in all places. On live chat waiting for someone to respond. 15 minutes waiting time is not correct. Waiting for a work around of a ticket as giving people the option to change times but charging the price of a full new ticket even though a ticket has already been purchased should not happen...
